President says Pakistan focusing export increase to improve economy
Dr. Arif Alvi while talking to a delegation of Miracle Saltworks Collective, a USA-based salt mining and processing company has said that Pakistan wants to promote foreign investment and joint ventures in various sectors.
Islamabad: President Dr. Arif Alvi on Wednesday said Pakistan is focusing on increasing exports to improve its economic situation.
Talking to a delegation of Miracle Saltworks Collective, a USA-based salt mining and processing company, in Islamabad today, he said Pakistan wants to promote foreign investment and joint ventures in various sectors. He said we want mutually beneficial business partnerships with foreign companies.
The President noted that better processing, packaging and marketing can add value to our salt. He said Pakistani salt can be obtained with high quality and very low investment.
The delegation apprised the President about the potential of Pakistani salt mines in earning foreign exchange, saying that quality and mineral rich rock salt is found only in Pakistan.
The delegation acknowledged that Pakistani salt is of low cost and high quality, emphasizing that the country can benefit from the largest salt market in the world.
It noted that the quality of Pakistani salt in terms of mineral content is the best in the world, and responsible mining, better processing and marketing can increase the value of Pakistani salt.
The delegation informed the President that Miracle Salt Works Collective will invest in Pakistan's salt sector. The company will mine and process Pakistani salt using high-quality technology.

Islamabad: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar on Wednesday expressed the confidence that signing of agreement between Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation and US-based Miracle Saltworks Collective Incorporation would not only surge the export of Pakistani salt, but it would also strengthen trade ties between Pakistan and the United States.
He was talking to a delegation of Miracle Saltworks Collective Incorporation, a US-based salt mining and processing company, which called on him in Islamabad today.
The Prime Minister said this joint venture reflects prevailing conducive investment environment in Pakistan. He said Pakistan has billions of dollars reserves in mining sector and new heights are being achieved in this sector under the auspices of Special Investment Facilitation Council.
Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar said the caretaker government, during its tenure, took various steps for increasing Foreign Direct Investment in the country, which are yielding positive results.
The delegation of the Miracle Saltworks Collective Incorporation thanked the government of Pakistan particularly the Special Investment Facilitation Council for its cooperation.
The delegation apprised the Prime Minister that after establishing this company in Pakistan, it will be listed with major stock exchanges around the world, which will benefit the government of Pakistan and local investors as well.
The delegation of the US-based Miracle Saltworks Collective Incorporation also informed the Prime Minister about its plan for socio-economic uplift of the local people, living in the areas near to salt mines and also provision of education, health and jobs opportunities to them.

Shoaib Malik got wicket of Saim Ayub on 0 scores. After that Muhammad Haris scored 6 runs and got out on Mir Hamza’s ball.
Babar Azam scored 72 runs apart from that Tom Kohler, Cadmore scored 2 runs. Rovman Powell scored 39, Asif Ali 23, Aamir Jamal 1 and Wood scored 8 runs.
Mohammad Zeeshan, Salman Arshad and Waqar Salam scored no runs in the match. Karachi Kings’ Mir Hamza and Hassan Ali got 3, 3 wickets.
Babar Azam stated that if his team have won the toss then they would have batted first.
