Proposals sought for standing committees’ formation in Senate
According to the tradition of the past, the relevant committees should be given to the opposition.
Islamabad: The proposals have been sought from the parliamentary leaders till May 10 for the formation of standing committees in the Senate after the National Assembly.
According to the media reports quoting sources of the Senate Secretariat, 36 standing committees and four active committees will be formed in the upper house.
The report quoting sources further said that the opposition has given preliminary proposals to the Senate Chairman regarding the standing committees.
According to the tradition of the past, the relevant committees should be given to the opposition.

Famers announced to protest before Punjab assembly
They will sit until their demand will be fulfilled.
Lahore: The farmers have announced to protest before Punjab assembly.
According to the details, due to the rains in south Punjab since from April 18 the crop cultivated on 64,00000 acres has been badly affected.
The Punjab government was about to start wheat procurement from April 22. Due to the delay in wheat procurement, the farmers were forced to sell their cultivated wheat on the streets of the city.
Chairman farmer Haseeb Anwar demanded that the government should ensure the purchase of wheat at its fixed support price.
He stated that with this demand they will hold a protest outside the Punjab assembly on April 29. They will sit until their demand will be fulfilled.
It should be noted that earlier the start of wheat harvests this year, the government had four million tons of wheat reserves.

CM GB writes letter to PM Shehbaz
CM GB said that the prime minister should play a role amid this.
Islamabad: The chief minister (CM) Gilgit Baltistan (GB) Gulber Khan has wrote a special letter to prime minister Shehbaz Sharif.
It is stated in the letter that the establishment division should make sure the implementation on fixed quota for the youth of GB in Islamabad.
The implementation should have done on quota of GB on advertised vacancies in federal institutions including labor department and social security institution.
CM GB said that the prime minister should play a role in making sure the fixed quota by the establishment division for providing opportunity of employment to the literate youth of GB.
