Two bandits killed, constable martyred in police encounter

Lahore: Two dacoits were killed and a constable was martyred in an encounter between dacoits and police in Baghbanpura, area of Lahore.

According to the details, the robbers were looting from the citizens, as soon as they saw the police, the robbers started firing directly, while two robbers were gunned down by the police.

In the encounter, Constable Imran Haider was martyred while Constable Dildar was seriously injured and shifted to the hospital.

According to the police, the identity of the dead robbers could not be ascertained, however, the investigation is ongoing.

Islamabad: Prime minister Shehbaz Sharif has contacted to United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) president Sheikh Muhammad Bin Zaid Al-Nahyan and appreciated him on facing the situation of recent heavy rains.

Shehbaz Sharif stated that there are severe rains in Pakistan in recent days in which many precious lives lost. He persuaded to take collective initiatives to fight with the challenge of climate change. Both countries needed to cooperate in this department.

Sheikh Muhammad Bin Zaid Al-Nahyan praised the best wishes of Shehbaz Sharif. Both leaders affirmed the determination to increase the two-way cooperation in different departments.

Jinnah House attack case: Interim bails of Imran’s sisters extended

Lahore: The interim bails of 34 accused, including the sisters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan in the Jinnah House attack case have been extended.

Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Lahore Saturday heard the interim bail applications of 34 accused, including Imran Khan’s sisters.

Arshad Javed, the duty judge of the ATC, heard the bail applications during which Aleema and Uzma appeared before the court after the interim bail expired.

The court ordered the interim bail of 34 accused, including the sisters of PTI founder, to be extended till May 21 while asking the investigating officer to submit a complete investigation report on the next hearing.
