Washington: The Republicans won the majority in the upper house of the American Congress, the Senate in the presidential election of the United States.

According to foreign media, Ohio and West Virginia played an important role in getting the majority of the Republicans in the US Senate.

According to media reports, in West Virginia, Republicans Governor Jim Justice was competing with Democratic candidate Glenn Elliott, but soon after the voting process ended, Jim Justice's victory was announced, which became the first hope of Republicans in the Upper House.

In the US presidential election, the Republicans have won 51 seats in the 100-member House, while the Democrats have won 43 seats.

Prior to today's election, the Democrats had a 51-to-49 majority in the Senate, but now the Republicans have a 51-vote lead in the Senate and may increase.

Former famous Lollywood actress Reema Khan has cast her vote in the ongoing United States elections.

Turning to photo and video-sharing platform Instagram, the actress shared a picture with her husband after voting.

Along with this, she has also added the hashtag of the US Election, Vote 2024.

The past actress has also shared various Instagram stories in this regard, in which she can be seen casting votes.

Reema said that she along with her husband Dr Tariq had exercised their right to vote in the US presidential election but she did not say who she voted for.

It is pertinent to note that the 47th presidential election was held in the United States yesterday (November 5), for which polling has now ended and the results are out for 43 of the 50 US states.

So far, out of 538 electoral votes, Republican candidate Donald Trump has received 248 electoral votes and Democratic candidate Kamala Harris has received 216 electoral votes.

It is pertinent to note that any candidate will need at least 270 electoral votes out of a total of 538 to win.

He stated that such success was never seen by the American people. Such a political victory was never seen before.

Trump added that he would make America safe, strong, prosperous, and great again. The golden age is about to begin in the US.

He further said that he would win 315 electoral votes in the rest of the swing state. Trump thanked the supporters that without their vote, he would not succeed.

“I will not start a new war but will end the wars,” Trump said.
