Drinking water in Parliament, lodges declared unhygienic

Islamabad: It has been revealed that drinking water is unsafe for parliamentarians as well, Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR) sent a letter to the National Assembly Secretariat in this regard.

The drinking water in Parliament House and lodges was declared harmful to health, this revelation came out in the quarterly report of PCRWR.

According to the document, water samples were taken from six places including the Deputy Speaker's room. All the water samples taken from the Parliament House were contaminated.

The PCRWRC report stated that the water in the tanks of three blocks in the Parliament Lodges is unusable.

Only the main filtration plant water was found to be safe. Water supply to Parliament House and Lodges is the responsibility of Capital Development Authority (CDA).

IHC allows Aamir Dogar to go for Umrah 

The court stated that Aamir Dogar can go for Umrah from April 3-9.

Islamabad: The Islamabad high court (IHC) has allowed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) leader Malik Aamir Dogar to go for Umrah.

According to the details, the chief justice Aamir Farooq heard the plea of Aamir Dogar. Aamir Dogar appeared in the court along with his lawyer and pleaded to allow him to go for Umrah.

The court stated that Aamir Dogar can go for Umrah from April 3-9 and also directed him to submit guarantee statement.

However, the court adjourned the hearing till April 22 and issued notice to parties on plea of Aamir Dogar.

LHC orders to fix plea for hearing against Aun’s victory 

Today (Friday) the court removed the objection of registrar office.

Lahore: The Lahore High court (LHC) has ordered to fix plea for hearing against the victory of Istehkam Pakistan party’s (IPP) leader Aun Chaudhry from NA-128.

According to the details, justice Faisal Zaman Khan heard the plea as objectional of backed independent candidate of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Salman Akram Raja from NA-128.

Applicant stated that he had approached to election commission against the victory of Aun Chaudhry from NA-128.

Election commission said that file a plea in election tribunal. Election commission had not used his legal jurisdiction.

It is pleaded in the petition that the court discarded the verdict of election commission and issued orders to cancel the notification of victory of Aun Chaudhry from NA-128.   

However, the registrar office imposed an objection on plea. Today (Friday) the court removed the objection of registrar office.
