First day of the new Hijri year — 1st Muharram-ul-Haram — will fall on Friday, June 27

(Web Desk): The crescent moon marking the beginning of Muharram-ul-Haram 1447 Hijri has been sighted in Pakistan.
A meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee was held in Quetta under the chairmanship of Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad to observe the Muharram moon.
Officials from SUPARCO and the Meteorological Department were also present at the meeting.
In addition, meetings of the zonal and district Ruet-e-Hilal committees were held at their respective headquarters.
After the meeting, the Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, officially announced the sighting of the Muharram-ul-Haram moon.
According to the Chairman, the first day of the new Hijri year — 1st Muharram-ul-Haram — will fall on Friday, June 27. Consequently, 9th Muharram will be observed on Saturday, July 5, and Youm-e-Ashura (10th Muharram) will be observed on Sunday, July 6.
Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad stated that testimonies of moon sightings were received from various regions.
