5.9-magnitude earthquake jolts Islamabad, other parts of country
People came out of their homes in panic and started reciting verses from the Holy Quran.
Islamabad: A 5.9-magnitude earthquake jolted Islamabad and different cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) on Saturday morning.
According to details, a strong earthquake of 5.9-magnitude jolted Islamabad, Swat, Skardu, Upper and Lower Dir, Malakand, Mansehra, Balakot, Battagram, Mardan, Bajaur and its adjoining areas
National Seismic Monitoring Centre, Islamabad confirmed that the epicenter of the earthquake was located in the Koh Hindukush mountainous region at the depth of 210 kilometres.
People came out of their homes in panic and started reciting verses from the Holy Quran. No loss of life and property was reported so far.
Earthquakes have been reported frequently during the past few days in the northern areas of the country.
