Islamabad: The Australian cricket team arrived in Pakistan on Sunday morning via a special plane, marking the first time in 24 years that they had done so.

A chartered jet carried a 35-member Kangaroos squad to Islamabad International Airport. Zakir Khan, Director of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), greeted the visiting team upon their arrival. The crew was led to their accommodation from the airport, which was heavily armed and guarded.

The Kangaroos will be free to practice again on Monday after spending the previous day in isolation.

The media managers for the Australian tour group have already arrived in Rawalpindi, Pakistan.

After completing their isolation period today, the Pakistan Test squad will participate in a practice session on Sunday morning. Captain Babar Azam, Sarfraz Ahmed, and Naseem Shah will also participate in the training session.

It should be remembered that Australia will host three Tests, three One-Day Internationals, and a Twenty20 International from March 4 to April 5. Rawalpindi will host the first Test of the series as well as the white-ball leg, with the second and third Tests to be held in Karachi and Lahore, respectively.
