PM Imran Khan to address nation today
PM termed the no-confidence motion an ‘imported crisis’.
Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan will address the nation at 5 pm Wednesday as the political temperature rises ahead of the debate on the no-confidence motion against the premier.
Speaking to the media, Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed said the prime minister will address the nation later today after an emergency meeting of the federal cabinet.
The emergency meeting of the federal cabinet is likely to start 2:30 pm which will be attended by the leaders of the parties which are in coalition with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
Earlier today, PM Imran Khan announced to unveil a “threat letter” before journalists, allies, terming the no-confidence motion an ‘imported crisis’.
While addressing the launching ceremony of the Electronic Passport (e-passport) Facility in Islamabad, PM Imran Khan said that the foreign powers could not tolerate a government that works for the interest of its people, citing the example of drone attacks. “I have the document (threatening letter) which I will show to the senior journalists today and allies,” PM Imran added.
“It’s a foreign conspiracy and I would show it to the allies so that they do not unknowingly become part of a conspiracy of the country,” he iterated.
He added that the people were thinking that Imran was staging a drama to save his government.
