Gilgit: Mountaineer Shehroze Kashif and his partner have been traced and spotted returning to base camp 3 of the Nanga Parbat, a day after he went missing following scaling the ninth highest mountain.

Shehroze Kashif's father Salman Kashif said that his son along with his partner Afzal was spotted returning to camp 3.

"Both Shehroze and Fazal are moving towards camp three," Salman said.

He, however, complained that "no one" helped his son and Fazal and both of the mountaineers are returning on their own.

It is pertinent to remember that the mountaineer duo had separately summited the Nanga Parbat, the ninth highest peak in the world, on Tuesday. Shehroze claimed the title of the world's youngest mountaineer to scale the Nanga Parbat.

Shehroze is the world’s youngest person to summit three 8,000-metre high peaks over a span of five months.

The mountain is considered the most lethal and toughest.
