Four terrorists killed, 5 soldiers including captain martyred in North Waziristan search operation

North Waziristan: Four terrorists were killed in a search operation launched by the security forces in the Boya area of North Waziristan.

The crossfire also left an Army captain and four soldiers martyred, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Monday.

The operation was conducted on an intelligence report about the presence of terrorists in the area, the statement further said.

"Four terrorists were killed and five Pakistan Army soldiers was martyred during an 'intense exchange of fire' after security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Boya, North Waziristan," it added.

According to the ISPR, weapons and ammunition were also seized during the operation.

According to the military's media affairs wing, the killed terrorists remained actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces, preparation of IEDs and killing of innocent citizens.

Captain Abdul Wali, 26, of Wana South Waziristan, Naib (45) Subedar Nawaz of Abbotabad, Hawaldar Ghulam Ali, 34, of Sargodha and Lance Naik Illyas, 33, of Mianwali and Sepoy Zafar Ullah, 29, of Mianwali were among the martyred.
