KP assembly dissolves as governor signs summary

Peshawar: The assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has been dissolved on Wednesday as Governor KP Haji Ghulam Ali signed the summary sent by Chief Minister Mahmood Khan, GNN reported.

According to details, on Tuesday night at 9:30pm KP Chief Minister Mahmood Khan sent a summary to dissolve the assembly to Governor Ghulam Ali. To which he acknowledged the receiving of summary.

It was expected that like Punjab Governor Baligh-ur-Rehman, KP governor would also not sign the summary and the assembly would be dissolved after 48 hours. However, Ghulam Ali had signed the summary after 13 hours.

The KP Chief Minister would consult the opposition leader Akram Khan Durrani for caretaker setup. Akram Khan stated that they had made the preparation for caretaker setup but he would not disclose the names before constitutional procedure.

Talking to GNN, Pakistan Tehreek-e- Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi stated that the only solution to sort out the current situation is elections.

He said that there are economic crisis and no stability in the country, adding that international community is also not supporting us.

Shah added that many opposition members are contacting PTI to join the party.
