Quetta Gladiators, Peshawar Zalmi to lock horns today in PSL 8 exhibition match

Quetta: Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators are all set to face each other today (Sunday) at 11am in Bugti Cricket Stadium Quetta for the exhibition match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) eighth season.

The preparations for the match at the stadium have been completed. The players and officials of the Quetta and Peshawar teams have reached Quetta and more than 13,000 tickets have been sold for the match.

Strict security arrangements have been made in the stadium and surrounding areas, more than 4,000 police and Frontier Corps personnel have been deployed to perform security duties for today’s match.

According to the district administration, there will be a complete ban on the use of drone cameras in and around the stadium, while cricket fans will not be allowed to bring any flag other than the Pakistani flag to the stadium to watch the match.

Former star cricketers Shahid Afridi, Javed Miandad and Moin Khan have also reached Quetta to watch the PSL exhibition match, while many showbiz stars including actors Ayub Khosa, Ahad Raza Mir would also watch the match in the stadium.

In the exhibition match, Quetta Gladiators will be led by Sarfraz Ahmed, while Peshawar Zalmi players will take the field under the leadership of national team captain Babar Azam.

Gladiators squad:

Khushdil Shah, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Muhammad Hasnain, Naseem Shah, Umar Akmal, Bismillah Khan, Saud Shakeel, Umaid Asif, Abdul Wahid Banglazai, Aimal Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed and Muhammad Nawaz.

Zalmi squad: 

Babar Azam, Danish Aziz, Saim Ayub, Haider Ali, Usama Mir, Usman Qadir, Aamer Jamal, Haseebullah Khan, Sufyan Muqeem, Azam Khan

It should be noted that according to the schedule PSL 8 will start from February 13 while the final will be played on March 19 in Lahore.
