PM’s visit to Turkey postponed: Sources
The sources say that the next dates of the visit of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will be announced later.
Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's solidarity visit to Türkiye was postponed, the sources said on Tuesday night.
The Prime Minister was to visit Turkey to express solidarity with the Turkish people during these difficult times.
The new dates of his visit would be announced as soon as it worked out.
Over 6000 people lost their lives in Turkey and Syria due to earthquake and rescue operations are underway to save the lives. According to the reports, there is problem in the rescue operation at the moment of writing these lines as there is no electricity and the roads were not clear of the rubbles.
It is feared that many of the affectees will be forced to spend night in the open sky as tents cities were being established by the local authorities.
The rescue teams have arrived in Turkey from different countries to help the Turkish people at this time.
Earlier in the day, Federal Minister for Information and broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb tweeted that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif would visit Turkey on Wednesday to express solidarity with the Turkish people.
Taking to Twitter, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb said the Prime Minister will also express solidarity with the people of Turkiye.
The Minister said the All Parties Conference scheduled for Thursday has also been rescheduled due to the Prime Minister's visit to Turkiye and the new dates will be announced later after consultation with the coalition partner.
