Pakistan to send charter plane for procuring COVID-19 vaccine from China

Islamabad: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Health Dr Faisal Sultan said that the government would soon send a special aircraft to China to get the first coronavirus vaccine tranche.

PM's aide further said that all Provinces had shared their plans regarding the distribution and procurement of COVID-19 vaccine in NCOC meeting. The nation is united and we are ready for this important step, he said.

"We are ready for this important step and are united for this mission," the special assistant vowed, adding that the government has "come a long way through cooperation."

Earlier, Dr Sultan said that the government-backed coronavirus vaccines would be administered free to all the citizen and government's top-most priority is to provide quality healthcare to people.

The special assistant said that China had donated 500,000 doses of the vaccine to Pakistan, while as many as 400,000 healthcare personnel had already registered to get jabbed.
