Blocked roads in Lahore, Karachi now open

The cases of rioting and arson have been registered in the city in which several PTI leaders have also been named.

Lahore: The closed roads in Lahore and Karachi due to protests have been regulated in different areas of the cities.

According to police, the protest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers continued until late last night (Wednesday) in Lahore. The city roads have been opened after dispersal of the protesters. However, the traffic is closed from Mall Road underpass to Dharmapura underpass.

Police also stated that police force has been deployed on various highways of Lahore. Ferozepur Road, Qurtaba Chowk—that were closed overnight— have been opened for traffic.

While traffic is flowing also on Canal Road, Jail Road and Zafar Ali Road.

On the other hand, the business community have also announced to open markets in Lahore.

While the caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab Mohsin Raza Naqvi formed a committed assuring full protection to the business community of Punjab.

The officials of Karachi police said that the traffic is flowing normally on the main roads of the city and the overall law and order situation is better.

According to police, a heavy contingent of police and rangers have been deployed on important roads including Shahra-e-Faisal.
