Five burnt due to oil tankers fire in Gujranwala
Petrol worth millions of rupees and plastic grains in a nearby factory were burnt to ashes.
Gujranwala: In an unfortunate incident, five people were injured when fire erupted in oil tankers parked in an illegal oil warehouse, Gujranwala on Saturday.
The fire incident took place at an oil warehouse located in Mafiwala near Sialkot bypass, where an oil tanker suddenly caught fire and within moments engulfed two more oil tankers and a nearby plastic factory.
As a result of the fire, five people identified as Zile Shah, Akram, Shoukat, Sajjad and Shakir, working in the warehouse were burnt and injured, who were shifted to the hospital in critical condition by the rescue personnel.
However, due to unavailability of a burn center in the hospital, all the injured have been referred to Lahore General Hospital.
On the other hand, rescue personnel brought the fire under control after three hours of fire-fighting operation in which 10 rescue vehicles participated.
