Washington DC: Spokesman of US State Department, Matthew Miller said that they are aware of the reports that the cases of civilians allegedly involved in the May 9 incidents are being tried in military courts.

Spokesman of US State Department, Matthew Miller, stated that Pakistani authorities are asked to respect the democratic values and the rule of law for all according to constitution.

On the purchase of Russian oil, the spokesman added: “Each country has to decide according to its energy needs, the United States has not imposed restrictions on Russian energy exports”.

According to Matthew Miller, the price of Russian oil declined due to the limit set by the US and its allies. The fall in price led Russia to lose 100 billion dollars.

Recently, US Secretary of State Anthony Blanken said that a prosperous democratic Pakistan that respects civil rights is important to US interests. US State Department maintains close ties with the government of Pakistan and other stakeholders.

He said that America supports keeping democratic principles and the rule of law same for all, it does not want to be a party to any conflict that will not end soon.
