A villager lost his life after being struck by lightning during scattered rain showers.

Mirpurkhas: As cyclone Biparjoy influenced the region, scattered light to moderate rainfall was experienced in Mirpurkhas, Thatta, Sujawal, and Badin districts.
Tragically, a villager lost his life due to a lightning strike during the rainfall on Thursday.
Mirpurkhas district witnessed 30 minutes of moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds.
The rain continued intermittently throughout Thursday evening.
This was the second spell of rain within two days, with the previous day's strong winds causing damage to thatched houses in rural areas.
The recent rainfall led to flooding in low-lying areas of Mirpurkhas city and surrounding towns, including Digri, Mirwah Gorchani, Jhuddo, Naokot, Kot Ghulam Mohammad, Sindhri, and Hingorno.
Roads and streets were inundated, leading to the closure of markets and commercial areas for two consecutive days.
The drainage system proved inadequate, resulting in sewage flooding various localities of Mirpurkhas city.
While the rainfall alleviated the previously scorching weather, it also claimed the life of a villager named Maghu Kolhi in Ghulam Nabi Leghari village near Jhuddo town.
Maghu Kolhi sustained serious burns when lightning struck nearby during the rainfall.
Despite efforts to transport him to a nearby hospital, he tragically passed away en route.
