PMD predicts pre-monsoon rainfall
Pakistan Meteorological Department predicts pre-monsoon rainfall across the country.
Islamabad: Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted pre-monsoon rain accompanied by thunderstorms across the country starting today.
According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rainfall and gusty winds are expected in northern and central regions until June 30.
Most areas of the country will experience hot and humid weather today.
Furthermore, rain is anticipated in upper and central Punjab, Islamabad, Pothohar, and Kashmir.
In addition to the warm weather, Islamabad is likely to witness thunderstorms with rain.
Most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will experience intense heat and humidity, while Chitral, Dir, Swat, Mansehra, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Haripur, and Peshawar are expected to receive rainfall.
In Mardan, Swabi, Nowshera, Kohat, Dera Ismail Khan, Lakki Marwat, and Kohat, rain is expected.
Most districts of Punjab will experience intense heat and humidity.
Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Rawalpindi, Mianwali, Sargodha, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sheikhupura, Multan, Ghotki, and Gurdwara are likely to witness thunderstorms and rain.
Meteorological Department has also predicted dusty winds and gusts in Multan, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Sahiwal, DG Khan, Bhakkar, and Faisalabad.
Most districts in Balochistan will experience hot and dry weather, while most areas of Sindh will have severe heat and humidity.
Dust storms are possible in the afternoon, including in Karachi and coastal areas.
Kashmir is expected to receive heavy rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms.
Gilgit-Baltistan may experience scattered rain with gusty winds and thunderstorms.
