People protest as French police shoot 17-year-old

Paris: The French police shot a 17-year-old car driver during questioning in the suburbs of Paris. The young man died on the spot due to a bullet in the chest.

Responding to the incident, citizens came out on the streets, and staged protest by vandalism and burning.

The killed young man identified as Nile was driving a rental car.

The video of the police shooting the youth has also surfaced, according to the eyewitnesses, the police shot unprovoked.

Police had claimed that the young driver tried to run them over, however the video revealed the truth.

Lawyer for the family stated that the video has failed to change the statement of the police.

The slain French-Algerian youth was 17 years old. The furious people protested outside the police station for allegedly killing him in broad daylight and set several vehicles on fire during the siege.

Earlier In 2022 alone, French police had killed 13 people for not stopping the vehicle.
