Section 144 enforced in Islamabad
Notification will be valid for two months, violators will be prosecuted under Section 144.
Islamabad: Section 144 has been imposed in federal capital Islamabad banning the gatherings and processions in the city.
According to the notification issued by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad, it has been said that under Section 144, there will be a complete ban on any kind of meeting, processions in Islamabad.
In the notification it has been stated that certain sections of the society are planning to hold illegal meetings including processions within the limits of Islamabad. While keeping in view the existing law and order and security situation, it is necessary to control such activities.
The Deputy Commissioner's notification further stated that keeping in view these concerns, gathering of five or more than five persons will be completely banned in Islamabad.
Notification will be valid for two months, violators will be prosecuted under Section 144.
