Islamabad: Electricity consumers are going to suffer another shock as National Electric and Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) approved another hike of Rs1.90 in power price for the month of May.
According to the report, the consumers will pay an additional Rs21.10 billion in the next month's bills due to the increase in the price.
NEPRA stated that the Central Power Purchasing Authority (CPPA) had requested an increase of Rs2.0 per unit, responding to which it heard the petition for fuel price adjustment on July 5.
According to the notification, it will be applicable to all consumers of discos except lifeline and electric vehicle charging stations, the increase will not be applicable to electric consumers.
