Case registered against civil judge wife for torturing maid
The parents said that judge's wife tortured the girl with a bat accusing her of stealing jewelry.
Islamabad: A case has been registered against Somia—wife of civil judge Asim Hafeez—for allegedly torturing a 14-year-old domestic worker Rizwana.
According to reports, the case was registered in Islamabad's Humak police station on the complaint of the father of young employee.
It has been stated in the First Information Report (FIR) that 14-year-old Rizwana was a domestic servant of Civil Judge Asim Hafeez for six months against the monthly salary of Rs10,000.
According to the registered case, the girl's tooth, nose, arm and ribs were broken due to the violence of civil judge's wife. Somia tortured the girl with sticks and spoons, inflicted deep wounds on her back with rods, while the civil judge's wife allegedly strangled the girl, which has clear marks.
Earlier, the parents of the victim girl said that the 14-year-old daughter was sent by a man named Mukhtar to work at the house of Civil Judge Asim Hafeez six months ago.
The parents said that judge's wife tortured the girl with a bat accusing her of stealing jewelry. When the girl's condition worsened, she handed her over to her mother. The girl has been shifted from Sargodha to Lahore in critical condition and is under treatment in General Hospital.
The hospital administration stated that there are old marks of violence on her body which worsened due to lack of timely treatment. The girl's legs are fractured and her head is also injured.
Caretaker Health Minister Dr. Javed Akram visited the victim girl. He said that Rizwana was brutally tortured for six months, action will be taken against the accused as per the law.
