The chief election commissioner criticized Chaudhry for his use of language in his apology in reaction to his remarks.

Islamabad: Former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry expressed his concern over the country's rising political situation, which was unsuitable for holding elections.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) received a written apology from Fawad in a contempt case after he physically appeared before the ECP.
The chief election commissioner criticized Chaudhry for his use of language in his apology in reaction to his remarks.
Furthermore, the show cause notice would be pursued if a proper apology wasn't given, the Election Commission said. But the commission will choose the course of action after studying the letter of apology.
Advocate Faisal Chaudhry asked acceptance of the apology and argued during the hearing that the problems at hand were technological. The hearing was then postponed by the Election Commission until August 15.
Fawad Chaudhry addressed the media after the hearing and emphasized the need to address the nation's current "bitterness" in his remarks. He questioned the use of conducting elections in such a situation and urged that a Majlis-i-Shura be established in its place.
He added that for elections to be successful, it was essential to lessen the hostility among party officials like PTI Chairman, the establishment, and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif. To promote harmony and collaboration, he suggested drafting a democratic charter.
In lamenting Pakistan's current status of democracy and elections, Chaudhry emphasized the necessity of first bringing the nation back to normalcy. In order to promote a successful electoral process in Pakistan, he highlighted the urgent need to eliminate the continuing disputes and animosity in his closing remarks.
