LHC allows cane commissioner to set sugar prices
Lahore High Court ordered the Cane Commissioner, to continue processing sugar prices in Punjab.
Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC) issued written order against the caretaker Punjab government's petition filed against fixing sugar prices.
LHC allowed the Cane Commissioner to continue the process of setting sugar prices.
The court has issued an order for the previous hearing of the miscellaneous petition filed against the move to fix sugar prices.
Lahore High Court directed Cane Commissioner to listen to the concerns of the mill owners regarding the sugar prices.
In the written order, the court adjourned the hearing till September 5, stating that the final decision on the prices shouldn’t be taken till the next hearing.
The court sought a response from the Advocate General and Attorney General's Office regarding the powers of the caretaker government.
