Lahore: Former Pakistan cricket captain, Shahid Afridi, has strongly criticized the statement made by Jay Shah, the President of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), regarding Pakistan's security.

Jay Shah had recently stated that due to security and economic concerns, all full members, media rights holders, and stadium rights holders were hesitant to participate in the entire tournament in Pakistan instead of Sri Lanka for the Asia Cup 2023.

Afridi took to Twitter to respond to Jay Shah's statement, highlighting Pakistan's successful hosting of several international teams and players over the past six years.

He also pointed out that Pakistan has been a host to many foreign teams and players during this time.

In his tweet, Shahid Afridi mentioned which foreign teams have visited Pakistan in recent years.

He ended his tweet by expressing confidence that Pakistan is also prepared to host the Champions Trophy in 2025, which is scheduled to be hosted by India.

It's worth noting that the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has faced criticism for changing the schedule for the Asia Cup, and this has led to uncertainty and confusion among fans and players.
