ICC announces match officials for upcoming World Cup

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled the panel of match officials for the upcoming Cricket World Cup 2023 set to begin in India next month.

Notably, one Pakistani umpire has earned a spot on the panel.

Among the 16-member umpire panel, Pakistan's Ahsan Raza has been named as one of the match officials for the prestigious tournament.

However, officials from the Elite Panel, including Aleem Dar, will not be part of the officials' roster for the Cricket World Cup 2023.

The World Cup umpire panel comprises Chris Brown, Kumar Dharmasena, Marais Erasmus, Chris Gaffaney, and Michael Gough.

It also includes Adrian Holdstock, Richard Illingworth, Richard Kettleborough, and Nitin Menon.

Paul Reiffel, Shoaib Al-Dhaheri, Rod Tucker, Alex Wharf, Joel Wilson, and Paul Wilson are also among the umpires selected for the World Cup.

During the World Cup, Javagal Srinath, Andy Pycroft, Geoff Crowe, and Richie Richardson will serve as match referees, ensuring fair play and adherence to the rules of the game.
