Islamabad: The Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced the completion of the Hajj policy for the year 2024.

The policy, which is set to streamline the pilgrimage experience, will soon be presented for approval to the federal cabinet within the next ten days.

The delay in the formulation of the Hajj policy last year led to several challenges for pilgrims.

To avoid a repeat of such issues, the ministry has introduced several new features to enhance the overall Hajj experience.

The upcoming policy will include a comprehensive 40-day Hajj program, catering to both short-term and long-term pilgrims.

One notable change is the introduction of specific-colored and designed suitcases for pilgrims.

This initiative aims to ensure that pilgrims' luggage is easily distinguishable, reducing the risk of loss or mix-up.

Moreover, each suitcase will feature a QR code containing essential information such as the pilgrim's name, passport number, place of residence, and school number.

This innovation will facilitate efficient tracking and organization of luggage.

The ministry has partnered with a leading Saudi Arabian mobile phone company to provide a special mobile package for pilgrims.

With this package, pilgrims will be able to make audio and video calls to stay in touch with their families in Pakistan without incurring hefty roaming charges.

The mobile package, valued at Rs 4,000, will enable unlimited communication during the pilgrimage.
