Expensive dog, snake bite vaccines stolen in Leh health office
The Department of Health suspects the CCTV camera was stolen after being tampered with.
Leh: A considerable quantity of snake and snake bite vaccines, valued at lakhs of rupees, have been stolen from the district health office in Leh, located in the Jununi Punjab region.
According to the CEO of Leh Health, a staggering 4,710 doses of snake and snake bite vaccines, totaling an estimated worth of Rs 50 lakh, were reported missing from the medicine store's freezer.
The suspicion of theft arose when the orientation of a CCTV camera appeared to have been tampered with.
In response to this alarming situation, the Health Department confirmed that the CEO of Health has promptly lodged a formal complaint with the local police, and a dedicated 5-member committee has been constituted to conduct a thorough inquiry into the incident.
Furthermore, the CEO of Health asserted that stringent actions will be taken against any individuals found to be involved in the illicit removal of these crucial vaccines.
