Dr. Farooq Sattar says they will seek resignation of President Asif Ali Zardari if the PPP demanded resignation of the Sindh governor

Karachi: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) senior leader Dr. Farooq Sattar on Monday said that if the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) demanded the resignation of the Sindh governor, his party would also seek the resignation of President Asif Ali Zardari.
“The PPP diverted attention from the main issue by calling for Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori’s resignation,” said Dr. Farooq Sattar while responding to the PPP and its demand.
He praised Governor Tessori for his service to the people of Sindh, emphasizing that he has risen above party affiliation to serve the public. Dr. Sattar criticized the PPP's actions as “non-political” and accused them of trying to shift focus from their own issues.
“The PPP’s demand for the governor’s resignation is a tactic to divert attention from their own mistakes,” Dr. Farooq Sattar remarked.
The MQM-P leader highlighted that 50,000 children are receiving free IT education at the Governor’s House.
“The PPP should have acknowledged its mistake regarding the court decision and committed to future recruitment being conducted according to the constitution and law,” he added.
“If the PPP can demand the Sindh governor’s resignation, then the MQM-P also has the right to demand President Zardari’s resignation,” Dr. Farooq Sattar stated.
Earlier, the PPP-led Sindh government called for the immediate resignation of Governor Kamran Tessori. During a press conference, Sindh Minister for Excise and Transport Sharjeel Memon criticized the MQM-P for allegedly promoting “hatred and violence” in the province.
He claimed that the MQM-P has become irrelevant at the local level, adding that their politics of hatred and accusations are outdated. “They are no longer visible at the Union Council level,” he added.
The PPP also criticized MQM-P Convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui for his remarks against former prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto regarding the quota system, emphasizing Bhutto's role in making Pakistan a ‘nuclear power’.
