A court discharged former Punjab CM Parvez Elahi from the sugar mill case rejecting a physical remand request on Thursday.

The court released Parvez Elahi from the case in a written decision, ruling that there was no evidence against him.

The court further stated that the Punjab Assembly matter is still pending between the attorneys, following which the court would choose whether to remand.

The court noted that the Lahore High Court has not yet released its reserved verdict and that it would make a conclusion based on the reasons presented by both parties and the LHC ruling upon its release.

While announcing its reserved decision Judicial Magistrate Imran Abid gave a two-day physical remand of Parvez Elahi in the Punjab Assembly case.

Earlier, the court directed Parvez Elahi's lawyers to complete their arguments in the Punjab Assembly case.
