The Sindh High Court expressed its anger on the Deputy Commissioners (DC) and the Anti-Encroachment Force (AEF).
Karachi: The Sindh High Court (SHC) Saturday ordered the immediate removal of encroachments from the main highways of Karachi.
According to details, a hearing was held on the petition against encroachment on main roads and important intersections in Karachi.
The Sindh High Court expressed its anger on the Deputy Commissioners (DC) and the Anti-Encroachment Force (AEF).
Justice Nadeem Akhtar said that the encroachments from Qayyumabad and other areas should be removed as there are several of them on the sides of Qayyumabad flyover.
He stated that there are many encroachments around the highways of the city. Even if an operation is conducted, the encroachments are established again after a few days. It is the responsibility of the Commissioner and others to remove the encroachments.
Justice Nadeem Akhtar added: “The encroachments should be eliminated from the city within two days, and police check-posts should be established within two days in those areas where more encroachments are established”.
The judge also questioned the need for court orders to end the encroachments.
