Export of Pakistani food increases by 30%

Islamabad: The exports of Pakistani food have increased by 30 percent in the first four months of this fiscal year.

According to the Institute of Statistics, the food items exports increased by 30% from July to October i.e. more than $1.944 billion.

It is reported that the export of rice exceeded by 710 million dollars with an increase of 30%, the export of fruits increased by 13.53% with a volume of $108.9 million, while the export of spices increased by 24.56% to 34.7 million dollars.

The report stated that the export of oil seeds and fruits increased by 292 percent to $306.8 million, while the export of sugar increased by 100 percent, which recorded a volume of 2.1 million dollars.

According to the report, meat exports increased by 18.77% to 152.5 million dollars, while fish exports decreased by 8% and vegetable exports by 38%.

The report further stated that there was a 21% decrease in the export of tobacco from Pakistan from July to October.
