Several accounts launched dirty campaign against judiciary, deleted: Info Minister

Islamabad: The Caretaker Information Minister Murtaza Solangi Monday said that judicial decisions are popular with the people, but a vile and dirty campaign was launched against the judiciary in Pakistan and abroad. The culture of intolerance and lies should be discouraged.

While holding a press conference along with Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) officials, Murtaza Solangi said that Article 19 of the Constitution has addresed the freedom of expression in detail.

The federal minister stated that Joint Investigation Team (JIT) was formed to probe the campaign against the judiciary which deleted the several hundreds accounts involved in the campaign against the judiciary.

He added that FIA, PTA and related organizations are continuously monitoring what is being uploaded on social media, investigative agencies are continuing their action.

An FIA official said, “Our cyber crime wing is fully alert, monitoring many accounts on social media, and will not allow anyone to compromise national security”.

“We have the authority to block content, all institutions inform us about media and social media,” PTA official stated.

He further said that public awareness about social media is very important because some people do not know and they are spreading this information without knowledge.
