Former Governor Punjab, PTI leader Mian Azhar released
Police officials said that no one is allowed to hold rallies and meetings without permission.
Lahore: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former Punjab Governor Mian Azhar was released by the police in Lahore.
According to the police, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Mian Azhar has been released on bail.
Police officials said that no one is allowed to hold rallies and meetings without permission.
It is pertinent to note that the leader of PTI and former Federal Minister Hamad Azhar had alleged in a statement on social media that his father and former Governor of Punjab Mian Azhar, 82 years old, has been arrested for holding a rally in NA-129 Lahore.
Hammad Azhar wrote that his father was arrested following the orders of the cowardly and fearful government.
On the other hand, PTI-backed candidate for Punjab Assembly seat from Wazirabad, Chaudhry Muhammad Yusuf, was also arrested.
The police said that Muhammad Yusuf was wanted in May 9 cases.
While, PTI said that Chaudhry Nasir Ali Waraich, an independent candidate from Bhalwal constituency PP-72, has also been detained, but the Bhalwal police denied the arrest of the PTI candidate.
