PTI to challenge cypher case trial
Barrister Gohar Ali Khan added that the trial of cypher case will be challenged in the court.
Rawapindi: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Tuesday announced to challenge the cypher case trial against former Prime Minister Imran Khan and former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
Speaking to the media after the official secret act court sentenced founder PTI and Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Tehreek-e-Insaf's central leader Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said: “The workers should show restraint and not get angry”.
Barrister Gohar Ali Khan added that the trial of cypher case will be challenged in the court. It is hoped that the punishment of PTI founder will be annulled.
It is pertinent to note that founder PTI Imran Khan and Vice-Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi were sentenced to 10 years in prison in the cypher case by Official Secret Act Court Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain.
In the judgment of the case, the court said that the prosecution had solid evidence to prove the crime. Both the accused were present in the courtroom at the time of sentencing and the accused refused to sign the 342 statement questionnaire.
