NA-235: ECP notifies RO on pretense plea of Saif-ur-Rehman from Karachi
The Election Commission issued a notice to the returning officer of NA-235, sought a report and adjourned the hearing till February 21.
Karachi: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Friday issued a notice to the Returning Officer (RO) while hearing the plea of pretense of candidate Saif-ur-Rehman from NA-235 Karachi and asked for a report.
According to the details, a three-member commission held a hearing in the Election Commission of Pakistan.
Sher Afzal Marwat, the lawyer of Saif-ur-Rehman candidate from NA-235 Karachi, stated before the commission that Mutahidda Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) candidate got only 2,000 votes and was on seventh number, however the next day he was declared winner.
MQM lawyer Farogh Naseem said that they have the certified Form-45 of all the polling stations.
Saif's lawyer Sher Afzal added that NA-235 has been rigged the worst, there was direct firing and was the worst elections in the history of Pakistan.
Member of the Election Commission Nisar Durrani warned them that this is not a political arena, do not make political speeches here, do it outside the building of Election Commission.
MQM lawyer Farogh Naseem replied: ‘If Election Commission will listen to such political speeches, then the excuses will never end’.
After which he submitted the certified form-45 of NA-325 to the Election Commission.
Election Commission member Allah Khan inquired that if the difference in Form-45 can be investigated.
MQM lawyer Farogh Naseem requested that the disputes related to the elections should be referred to the Election Tribunal.
