Religious scholars urge people to get vaccinated against Covid-19
Islamabad: Religious scholars have urged people to get vaccinated and take precautionary measures against the coronavirus.
According to details, a consultative session of religious scholars chaired by President Dr. Arif Alvi was held in Islamabad on Wednesday in which religious scholars urged people to get vaccinated against Covid-19 to prevent the spread of the pandemic.
Following the session, a joint statement was also issued on the occasion, in which the religious scholars from different schools of thought agreed to encourage people for vaccination.
Reading out the content of the statement, the President said that millions of people have become victim of Covid-19 and religious scholars have considered opinion of health experts regarding vaccination against the pandemic, as worthy.
Dr. Alvi said that the religious scholars have agreed to the fact that urging people towards vaccination is one of their prime responsibilities as vaccination is an important to effectively stop the spread of virus and ensure continuation of socio-economic activities especially the industries and factories.
The religious scholars also expressed satisfaction over the manufacturing of the anti-Covid vaccines registered in Pakistan. They agreed to effectively and positively raise their voice form mosques, Imambargahs and seminaries to persuade the people to get vaccinated.
The President said that the religious scholars who have received the vaccination will inform people about the importance of coronavirus vaccination in their sermons on Friday.
President Dr. Arif Alvi commended the role played by the religious scholars in successfully handing the Covid-19 situation.
