Imran Khan acquitted in both cases of May 9

Islamabad: The District and Sessions Court Islamabad Thursday has acquitted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan from both cases of May 9 filed in Shehzad Town police station.

Judicial Magistrate Umar Shabbir gave a reserved verdict on Imran Khan's acquittal pleas.

The court acquitted former Prime Minister Imran Khan from both the Shahzad Town police station cases on the basis of insufficient evidence.

It is pertinent to note that lawyers Mirza Asim Baig and Naeem Panjotha argued for the acquittal of PTI founder.

Advocate Mirza Asim Baig said that First Information Reports (FIRs) were filed against Imran by an unauthorized person. Imran Khan was accused of 109 but no evidence could be presented.
