Azadi March case: Imran, Shah, Rashid acquitted

Islamabad: The District and Sessions Court Islamabad Thursday acquitted founder chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan, vice chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmed in the case related to Azadi March vandalism and rioting.

The court have already reserved judgment on the petitions filed for acquittal of Imran Khan, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Sheikh Rashid and others.

Judicial Magistrate Malik Muhammad Imran announced the acquittal of Imran Khan, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, and Sheikh Rashid while pronouncing the verdict in the case filed in Police Station I-9 related to Azadi March.

District and Sessions Court Islamabad also acquitted Sadaqat Abbasi, and Ali Nawaz Awan.

It is pertinent to note that a case against Imran Khan, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Sheikh Rashid and others was registered in 2022 under the provisions of section 144 and vandalism.
