WB approves $535mn financing for Pakistan

Washington: The World Bank has approved $535 million in financing for Pakistan, which will be used to reduce climate change damage and improve the livestock sector in Sindh.

According to the announcement issued by the World Bank, Pakistan has been approved to provide financing for two projects.

The World Bank said in a statement that $400 million will be provided under the first project which will be spent on reducing the damages of climate change in Pakistan. It will improve the productivity of the agricultural sector.

It was further stated that the purpose of the funds is to protect the agricultural sector from the effects of climate change.

According to the announcement, $135 million will be provided under the second project, which aims to improve the livestock sector in Sindh.

According to the World Bank, the livestock sector in Sindh will be protected from the effects of climate change.
