LHC again orders ban on smoke-emitting vehicles
The court said that the traffic police should take action against vehicles emitting smoke and inform the concerned department
Lahore: The Lahore High Court (LHC) once again ordered the ban on of smoke-emitting vehicles.
Justice Shahid Karim of LHC heard the petitions filed for remedying smog.
During the hearing, the court said that the traffic police should take action against vehicles emitting smoke and inform the concerned department.
The court stated that the Motorway Police should act on the cases of arson. There are more fire cases in the vicinity of the Motorway which should be controlled. The IG Motorway should implement the court orders otherwise contempt of court action will be taken.
During the hearing, Provincial Disaster Management Authority’s (PDMA) report on heat stroke was presented in the court, in which it was stated that the heat stroke awareness campaign has been started, 20 water bowsers have been sent to Cholistan, one water bowser contains 12,500 liters of water which was given to the residents there.
Later, the court adjourned further hearing till June 28.
