57 Bangladeshis sentenced for illegal protests in UAE

Abu Dhabi: United Arab Emirates (UAE) sentenced 57 Bangladeshi citizens for illegal protests in the city.

According to the Arab Media, sentences were issued to the Bangladeshi immigrant on Sunday by the Federal Appeal Court for sabotaging peace and public order.

Federal court sentenced three people to life imprisonment for calling people and instigating them to take part in illegal protest and 10 years of imprisonment were granted to 53 individuals who took part in this protest.

Court said that only one citizen was granted 11 years of imprisonment for illegally entering in to the country and taking part in the protest. Everyone after completing their sentence would be immediately deported.

It is pertinent to note that all convicted persons staged a protest on Thursday against the Bangladesh government in UAE.
