Blind Professional Association delegation meets Punjab governor

Lahore: A delegation of Blind Professional Association of Punjab called on Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan at Governor House Lahore on Tuesday.

During the meeting, the delegation apprised the governor of Punjab about the various problems faced by them.

Speaking on this occasion, Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan said that special people are an important part of the society.

Governor Punjab said that brave people like them are a source of pride for others. He said that it is the duty of both the government and the society to create facilities for the differently abled persons. He lauded the services of Blind Professional Association of Punjab for visually impaired persons and added that it is playing a vital role in solving the problems of blind people.

The delegation presented the demands to the governor of Punjab to increase the conveyance  allowance of government visually impaired government employees , to allocate quota in 'Apna Ghar Apni Chat' Scheme and to set the retirement age at 65 years for blind government employees.

Governor Punjab assured to convey the demands of the delegation to the concerned quarters.

The delegation comprised Safia Ishaq Chairperson Blind Welfare Association, Patron in Chief Blind Professional Association, Professor Iftikhar Ahmed Bukhari, President Blind Professional Association Muhammad Muzaffar, Special Education Department teachers Jaber Hussain, Ahmed Karim, Muhammad Mudassar and others.
