Karachi: Kamran Tessori is expected to be replaced by a Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader in the coming days, said the sources close to the development on Friday.

The sources said that PML-N's Bashir Memon is being considered as the new Governor of Sindh. The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and PML-N, the key coalition partners in the federal government, have reportedly reached an agreement to replace the current governor.

The change in the governor's office is expected soon, with sources revealing that the PML-N leadership contacted top PPP officials earlier today to discuss the matter.

It is expected that the incumbent Governor Kamran Tessori will be succeeded by Bashir Memon, a former head of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the current president of PML-N Sindh, a position he has held since November 7, 2023. Tessori has served as Governor since October 10, 2022.

In response to these developments, a spokesperson for MQM-P stated that there have been no discussions at any level regarding a change in the governorship and that the party has not yet been approached by the central government on this matter.
