Nation celebrates the day with full enthusiasm and national spirit


Lahore: Pakistan is celebrating its 77th Independence Day full of enthusiasm and national spirit.
In celebration, national green crescent flags have been hoisted on government buildings in all cities of the country.
The day will dawn with thirty-one gun salute at the Federal Capital and twenty-one gun salute at the provincial headquarters.
Special prayers will be offered in mosques at dawn for peace, solidarity and prosperity of the country.
The main Independence Day ceremony will be organized in Islamabad, where the national flag will be hoisted at the Parliament and Presidency buildings.
Like the previous years, the Independence Day celebrations started from the midnight as a large number of citizens came out of their houses to mark the day.
Independence Days’ first major ceremony was held in Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Kakuk where Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir was the chief guest.
In Lahore, a large number of citizens will reach at Wagha border before dawn to witness the flag hoisting ceremony.
