Islamabad: During the hearing of the case of the recovery of two missing brothers Prof Zahoor and Prof Mazhar of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Azhar Mashwani in the Islamabad High Court (IHC), it was reported that a party worker Faizan has returned home.
Chief Justice Aamer Farooq heard the petition, during which Attorney General and lawyer Babar Awan appeared in the court.
Babar Awan told the court that thanks to the IHC, one of the hostages has reached home, some employees of the PTI Secretariat have also reached home. The missing Faizan has returned but his condition is not good, hoping that today the Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan will announce some good news.
On this, the Attorney General told the court that initially case was with the other bench. ‘We assured, we are doing our best, we are using all resources. One missing worker has returned, given some time the rest will also return’.
The Attorney General asked the court for two to three days and said that better news will come. Some more time may be needed, the government is working, and hopefully, positive news will come.
Babar Awan said that the Attorney General had submitted a report to the Supreme Court. As he is saying today, he has said before also. The matter has also been brought to the notice of the Prime Minister, after which a missing worker was returned. I am not pushing for that, nor are we taking judgment.
On this, Chief Justice Aamer remarked: “We keep it for Friday. This court has been told that the missing Faizan has returned. The Attorney General has asked for more time and said that the case of missing citizens is raised before the Prime Minister. The Attorney General's request for more time is granted. The petition of the returned worker has been disposed of”.
