Seven killed, 15 injured in Mastung blast

Mastung: A bomb blast took place near Girls High School at Civil Hospital Chowk in Balochistan's Mastung district, killing seven people including a policeman and injuring 15.

According to the police, one policeman and three children are among the dead, while most of the injured are school children.

Those injured in the blast have been shifted to DHQ Hospital while a police mobile was also destroyed in the blast.

In the blast, other vehicles and rickshaws on the square have also been damaged. The sound of the explosion was heard in the nearby areas, while police and rescue personnel reached the spot.

The police stated that the police mobile was targeted in the blast, but the school van was also hit by it.

Balochistan Govt Condemns

The Balochistan government condemned the bomb blast near the school in Mastung and sought a report from the provincial home department.

According to the spokesperson of the provincial government, Shahid Rind, the district administration, bomb disposal squad and security forces are present at the spot, and the nature of the explosion is being determined.

The spokesman further said that evidence is being collected from the incident site, emergency has been declared in the hospitals and doctors and medical staff have been summoned.

On the other hand, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti condemned the blast and expressed his grief to the martyred policemen and the relatives of the children.

In his statement, Balochistan Chief Minister said that the terrorists have now targeted innocent children along with the laborers, the blood of innocent children and innocent people will be accounted for.

He has further said that the local people in the civilian population also have to keep an eye on the terrorists, the monster of terrorism can be fought only together.
