COAS directs troops to assist civil admin in rescue, relief efforts: ISPR
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa Friday has directed troops stationed at Balochistan to provide all out assistance to civil administration in rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts being carried out in the earthquake-hit areas of the province.

As per Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) media release, the Army Chief directed the officials to help mitigate difficulties faced by affected population of earthquake hit areas of Balochistan.
At least 22 people were killed while over 300 others sustained injuries after an earthquake of 5.9 magnitude hit Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan province early Thursday.
The earthquake was centred near the province's Harnai district and had a depth of 15 kilometres and had a longitude of 67.96 East and a latitude of 30.08 North.
Following the devastating situation, necessary food and shelter items were dispatched to earthquake affected population.
Pakistan army troops also reached earthquake hit areas of Harnai for rescue and relief efforts, said ISPR.
The military’s media wing stated that army doctors and paramedics along with necessary medicines are assisting civil administration for necessary medical care.
